A: MOTIONCAPTURE3D is a MoCap Bureau based in Athens, Greece. Our company was ranked in the top-5 of greek innovative business in 2005. We provide in-studio and by distance motion capture services for 3-D animation, clinical & sports biomechanics and ergonomics.
A: Motion Capture for Animation is already considered a budget-squeezer compared to traditional methods. However, some of the incurred costs could be further reduced by a remote MoCap service, as expensive studio rentals, travel and accomodation costs for a whole crew could be avoided. Of course, motion analysis for clinical/sports biomechanics can only be done in-studio.
A: We only need video clips with the movements (or a detailed description if you believe they are simple enough). Our technical staff and mocap actors/dancers assess the difficulty of the project and we come back to you with a quotation and to discuss the time scale. If there is a deal, our actors replicate your movements, we capture, edit and clean the data. This is a multi-step process and we get frequently in touch with you (by video conference, phone or email) so that you inspect the work and give advice/instructions. Finally we send you a video file with your movements in 3-D. The file is unusable, but you can final check the quality and accuracy of the work. If you approve it, you buy the mocap files in a usable format of your preference (csm, Maya etc).
A: Yes there are pre-made mocap data in the internet, which is not expensive to buy. For some simple projects this is possibly the way to go. MOTIONCAPTURE3D does not provide pre-made data, but data captured for your particular movie/game/commercial project, customised according to your script. The end result is what you have imagined and planned, and not an "anthology" of other companies' projects.
A: To our knowledge, the lowest in the market. Please contact for an initial approximate quotation. The final proper quotation is supplied once we know in detail your project requirements. Simple single-character full body movements incur the lowest prices. Props, facial and hand mocap are charged differently. Movements that cause lots of marker occlusions or require two actors simultaneous capturing are charged at higher rates. We charge per second of approved final product. The cost is per second for small projects (less than 5 minutes) and by a fixed price for large projects. Big scale projects (more than 5 minutes) are treated with significant discounts!
A: Online with Paypal, or with bank transfer, after the delivery of your files. We DO NOT require a deposit!!
